Follow-up and Return-to-Work Planning

Follow-up visits
For most procedures, the usual first follow-up is around 7 days. Confirm your individual appointment before leaving the clinic.

Possible additional costs
The published price applies to a standard procedure under local anesthesia. Laboratory tests may be required for patients with medical conditions such as hypertension or diabetes. Laboratory tests are estimated at ₱4,000–₱5,000 and an optional IV sedation upgrade costs an additional ₱20,000. IV sedation requires full laboratory clearance. Final requirements, inclusions, implant choice, and pricing are confirmed after assessment.

What Is Chin Augmentation?
Chin Augmentation uses a silicone implant to improve chin projection and create a more balanced facial profile. At BienPoMD, the implant is placed through a small incision under the chin. This approach allows direct placement and avoids an incision inside the mouth.
Who May Be a Candidate?
This procedure may be considered for patients with:
- A small or recessed chin
- Limited definition between the chin and neck
- A lower face that looks less projected in side-view photos
- A desire for better balance between the nose, lips, and chin
An in-person consultation is required. Dr. Bien will assess the chin, jaw, bite, soft tissue, natural asymmetry, medical history, and the implant size that may suit the face. Some patients may need a different treatment or may be advised not to proceed.
Chin Augmentation can improve projection and facial balance, but it cannot guarantee perfect symmetry, a specific profile, an invisible scar, or a complication-free result. Swelling can temporarily make the chin look larger, and the final shape settles gradually.

Will the implant look obvious or fake?
The implant is selected according to your facial dimensions and the amount of projection that is reasonable for your anatomy. The aim is a balanced result, but the final appearance varies and cannot be guaranteed.
Will there be a visible scar?
A small incision is placed under the chin. The scar usually becomes less noticeable with time, but every patient heals differently and no scar can be guaranteed to become invisible.
Is a silicone chin implant permanent?
Silicone implants are designed for long-term use and do not dissolve. They can still be removed or replaced if medically necessary or if the patient later chooses revision surgery.
Can Chin Augmentation be combined with another procedure?
Yes, when appropriate. It is sometimes combined with V-Line Liposuction or neck contouring when both chin projection and lower-face definition need attention.
How soon can I return to work?
Many patients can return to light work after about three to five days, but visible swelling or bruising may last longer. Your work demands and individual healing should guide the plan.
How is the implant size chosen?
Implant size is not chosen by preference alone. Dr. Bien considers the chin width, projection, jaw shape, soft tissue, facial profile, and the amount of change that can look proportionate and remain safe.
