Rhinoplasty
Wide Nose
A nose may look wide at the bridge, bony sidewalls, tip, nostril base, or several levels at once. Treating only one level may not create a balanced result.
Understand the anatomy
What may contribute
Possible contributors include a broad bony vault, wide middle vault, thick skin, broad or divergent tip cartilages, alar flare, a wide nostril floor, and the nose’s relationship to the cheeks and face.
Individual assessment
How the concern is evaluated
A structured examination identifies where width begins, checks support and breathing, and evaluates front, profile, base, and three-quarter views rather than relying on one photograph.

Options that may be discussed
Rhinoplasty may address bridge or tip structure, while alarplasty is limited to selected nasal-base concerns. The safest plan preserves support and avoids an overly narrow or pinched appearance.
